A few of the 7101 pipes in Portland, Maine’s, Kotzschmar Organ taken from inside of the organ.
Wow!! And just what were you doing inside the organ?
Great capture - fascinating seeing even a small part of the insides…
it is important to be precise
Thanks Kathy, Ken and Sharon (@Kathy_9, @KenKv and @ShazzyCo)- believe it or not we were taken on a tour of much of the inside of the organ as today was Kotzschmar Organ Day, with free concerts all day and two sets of tours.
Here are a few more “inside the organ” shots that are SOC:
And several outside the insides shots that have all be treated some:
How interesting - it looks absolutely huge! Bet it sounds fantastic …
@rasmus160 - it has an amazing set of sounds - was interesting to listen to 10 different organists play today as you got 10 different sets sounds and feelings - in recent years they have installed a number of computer systems in the console including programs that allow each player to set up their own organ stops so it is very quick to change from one person to another.
The additonal shots and your description of the sound of yhe orgsn are fascinating!
Can only agree, fascinating …
With all those pipes it must have a beautiful sound. Nice captures.
You got my curiosity going so I did some searching and found this.
