For ages I have been warning about the use of this type of utility to “clean” up your registry, programs or data … note that you need to be very careful nowdays:

They do often produce false positives as well - I have some music production software named FL Studio - CCleaner always flags it up as a PUP (possibly unwanted program). Thanks for the heads up.
If developers were responsible in cleaning up their detritus after an uninstall or an update then programs such as these would not be necessary.
