Blue Moon 7/31/15

Several weeks ago I heard an interview on NPR with Paul Simon talking about his recent and final album “In the Blue Light”. The album is a brilliant reimaging of 10 songs he said he always wanted to revisit. The interview got me thinking about images I’d like to revisit and apply a few things I’ve learned over the last couple of years. With this in mind, here we have “Blue Moon 7/31/15”. Photographing the moon is not exactly straight forward and rendering it was also a bit of a challenge. I’ve always been fascinated with the color of the clouds surrounding the moon and I feel I finally was able to capture some of that and emphasize it. While I was never really happy with the original image, I’m pleased with how this last effort turned out. The next Blue Moon occurs in 2020. Try and try again.
