Just some clarification on the ticketing system, in this regard.
Onto your issue. It looks like you are using an older version of the Topaz Community apps. You need to head to the Downloads Page to download and install Impression 2/Glow 2/Texture Effects 2, making sure to use the individual installers. It takes some time to update the Collection installer, so if you want to make sure you're up to date with minor bug fixes (for things like this), you'll want to use the individual installer to update the problem application.
As for the "Check for Updates" button in the applications - we don't really use those anymore. This option will soon be removed from the software, in favor of an in-application "public announcement" feature that will simply notify you of updates. We are working on many of these UX systems, to improve the update process overall. For now, ignore the "Check for Updates" menu option.
