Ok, now itâs going according to your instructions
ida.topazlabs,
Considering all the problems that have been reported, I would prefer to know what the problem is and have an official fixed update release from Topaz.
Regarding your statement that this âonly affects those of us who had previous Gigapixel versions installed,â as I suggested above, this has to be the standard installation scenario for all previous GP users and therefore the vast majority of those installing 7.0.0, correct?
Just downloaded the new Gigapixel 7 and it will not open. I uninstalled the original and rebooted, then downloaded G7 and rebooted again but still would not open. I have several Topaz programs old and new and everyone opens without an issue. It downloaded and installed without a hitch and the full program size is showing in Windows control panel - any idea as to why this is happening?

Here you go (you should post there):
OopsâŠsorry!! Thanks for pointing it out
Topaz have actually responded and fixed the issue
Thanks again
Nigel
I am glad to hear⊠take care love.
Hi @marty_sp , thank you so much for your reply.
The steps you outlined worked on my machine.
Appreciate the quick and effective response.
Thanks. After following steps (removing folder and deleting Registry entries I tried running the installer & got the unistall, repair etc options - I chose the uninstal then ran the installer fresh & installation occurred with full functionality.
I have previously tried this with no luck, but chose to try again - still no luck. Gigapixel v7.0.0 will not load. It doesnât even show up as a running app in Task Manager.
Same here. Updated first. Seemed to install, but would not run. I downloaded from my products page. Ran that and tried ârepair.â Wouldnât repair, so I removed gigapixel, then reinstalled from the download. Still will not run.
Hi Ray,
Thank you. This version works for me.
And yes Iâm a PC windows 10 owner.
I will wait a few weeks before installing v7.0.0. I hope they repair the bugs in mean time.
I, along with everyone else it seems, have the same problem. I did as instructed by manually deleting the Gigapixel folders, reboot and download a new copy of the install program and it finally worked. I am very annoyed at Topaz for not working this out before releasing it. Some people are not computer savvy and will be totally lost doing these steps. Shame on Topaz. I have some serious thoughts about ever upgrading one of their other programs again.
Interesting - I have had similar issues with various Photo AI updates, but the new versions come frequently enough such that I get working installations soon after. Iâve never had to really worry about it. I do, however, prefer the performance of Topazâs Sharpen and Gigapixel to that of Photo AI. I am hopeful a Gigapixel update (7.0.1?) comes along soon.
I am another poor customer that has had this problem. I tried the fix as posted here by Topaz. On the second try it gave me the repair option which worked. This situation is absolutely disgraceful. There are users who do not have a background in IT and should not be asked to edit their registry, which is a potentially disastrous thing to do. You didnât tell us to backup the registry first Topaz, which you should have. You need to fix this witha new release as soon as possible.
I had the problem, and had only version 6.3.3 installedâŠ
Followed directions above to delete folder and reg entries, downloaded fresh installer and itâs working now.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
You are my life saver with this post!!!
I have windows 11.
I do everything what @marty_sp write, but nothingâŠ
Before I do everything, uninstall, reboot, repair, reboot, uninstall, reboot, repair â do not working, download from different links the version 7 (my account, homepage, email link from Topaz, etc)
So thank you very much again!
I install version 6.3 again and now everything itâs ok!
I wish I came looking here first before I wasted my time. This morning I installed v 7.0.1 and when it didnât run I looked here. I saw the instructions to delete a line in RegEdit and even uninstalled v 6 which did not work and then uninstalled v 7 and reinstalled it. Still the same problem on my Win 10 PC. Now I see everyone else is having the exact same problem. So I went back to uninstall v 7 again, reinstall version 6 (its been a long time since I had to reinstall any software from Topaz) so at least I have a functional Gigapixel again.
I never saw what the big deal was they promised about v 7. Where is that located? V7 takes so long to install while v6 was less than 3 minutes on my computer.
I let GPAI 7 install into itâs default location. My GPAI 6 is at a slightly different location (Topaz Labs versus the new Topaz Labs LLC). The install proceeded normally, and now I have both still installed and running properly.
