Yes, there is quite the expectation placed on us, but I must admit it feels that expectations are tempered by sour experiences with other software companies. There are many times that I could have done better, but only I really know how frequently. I started out in hardware repair QA/QC, so I began my career rejecting bad fixes. Quality is very difficult to achieve and maintain, from a process standpoint, because things can move very quickly. From the customer side, there is always a delay between recognition and resolution of a problem. For us, the work starts almost immediately, if we can do so. We have no intention of slowing down, and we won't be pulling any punches when it comes to our new approach. We want to be the best, hands down. The goal for us, ultimately, is to hear our company come out of the names of our friends and family's mouths, without them realizing that this awesome tool they love using, was actually created by us.
It's quite humbling to hear people refer to edited images as "Photoshopped", especially now that I am able to pick out distinct editing features in images - in some cases, I can tell you exactly which products were used. We'd like to hear our own name converted to a verb: "Wow, did you Topaz that image? Why is it so good?"
Of course, we'll have to earn that
