Here’s something from 2007 taken at the King Kamehameha Parade in Kapaau. Paʻu riders are wahine (Hawaiian for women) horseback riders who wear long, colorful skirts (Hawaiian: pāʻū) and characteristically ride astride, rather than sidesaddle. The work and preparation that goes into preparing a princes for the parade is extraordinary and the color is wonderful.
